In radio frequency (RF) accelerator, the high power RF system (HPRF) is one of the main important system that generates electric fields for beam acceleration. To ensure beam availability and accelerator safety, a reliable RF system with a highly sophisticated protection scheme is required. RF systems are complex, incorporating high-voltage and high-power subsystems in addition to RF and high current sub systems. A good amount of accelerator downtime typically comes from RF power systems. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has developed low energy high intensity proton accelerator (LEHIPA) as a front end of ADS. LEHIPA uses three 352 MHz, 1 MW klystron based high power radio frequency (RF) systems to power its three accelerating cavities. This paper, discusses the details of klystron RF system. © Anita Publications. All rights reserved.
