This article describes the design, simulation and cold characterization of RF interaction structure of C- band, 250 kW, CW Klystron proposed for LHCD application as a source. Commercially available electromagnetic simulators like CST Microwave Studio, Superfish and MAGIC 2D code have been used for simulation and optimization purposes. Important components of RF interaction structures like RF cavity, RF window and output coupling structure have been designed, optimized and cold characterized. Intracavity spacing has also been designed and optimized. The power obtained through simulation is well above 250kW with a simulated gain of 45dB and simulated efficiency of 45%. © Anita Publications. All rights reserved.
