Valery V Tuchin

Valery V Tuchin is professor and chair of Optics and Biophotonics at Saratov State University (National Research University of Russia). He is also the head of Laboratory of Laser Diagnostics of Technical and Living Systems, Institute of Precision Mechanics and Control, RAS, and the supervisor of Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Biophotonics at Tomsk State University (National Research University of Russia) and Laboratory of Femto Medicine of ITMO University (National Research University of Russia). His research interests include tissue optics, laser medicine, tissue optical clearing, and nanobiophotonics.

He is member of SPIE, OSA, and IEEE, Guest Professor of HUST (Wuhan) and Tianjin Universities of China, and Adjunct Professor of the Limerick University (Ireland) and National University of Ireland (Galway).

Valery V Tuchin
Prof. Tuchin is fellow of SPIE and OSA, he was awarded the Honored Science Worker of the Russia, Honored Professor of Saratov State University, SPIE Educator Award, FiDiPro (Finland), Chime Bell Prize of Hubei Province (China), Joseph W. Goodman Book Writing Award (OSA/SPIE), and OSA Michael S. Feld Biophotonics Award for pioneering research in biophotonics.

He has published more than 700 papers (Web of Science), 27 monographs and text-books, and 58 book chapters. He has also edited an special issue of Asian J Phys on Biomedical Spectroscopy & Optical Imaging (Vol 10, No 4, 2001, 455-559) alongwith Prof Alexander Priezzhev. He was regular editor of Asian J Phys upto 2005.

Dr. Tuchin is also a holder of more than 50 patents. His works were cited 24636 times to August, 2019 (as per Google Scholar).
